The Pencil Game
Hey guys. My name is Chris, I am a senior at Punahou Highschool in Honolulu Hawaii. I was super excited to participate in my first game jam, and solo develop a game from scratch for the first time. Aside from the audio, the main menu background, and the first level background, all of the assets in here are mine and were created from scratch. Again this is the first game I've made so I would love any feedback possible.
I learned a lot from this Jam, I think my biggest take away from this was that my scope for the project was a little too large to be packed into a week, especially on top of school. If I had more time I would have liked to flesh out the core components a little more, add some levels, and a score counter at the end of each level. Right now I primarily just have a proof of concept, but I am still super happy I stuck through it and worked on it relentlessly.
As most of you will I plan on participating in more Game Jams in the future, to expand my skills and to lean new things. Overall this was a great experience and I can't wait to do it again soon. Thank you Noah for making this possible!!!

I didn't get very far, but I enjoyed the drawing mechanic. its a lot like line rider or that one kirby drawing game.
Hey Chris! I really like the drawing mechanic in the game! The fact that you made such a cool system in your first game is very inspiring!
I think with a bit more polish this could be super fun. I think some more direction would be great on the objective.
Cool concept. I don't know how the theme fits on this by the way.
But if you polish this game, it will be great. It has good potential.
Nice idea. Fun to draw lines. We were a little lost in the level though (like not clear where to go next and what to do at some point)
haha awesome concept :D nice work and feel
I really liked the concept! It was a little on the hard side but I think with some work this could be a really nice game. Keep making games, my first game wasn't very good at all. I would really apricate it if you played my game "In the Eyes of the Dragon"
You can literally playce the pencil below you, jump and draw beneathyou to rise up to the level collider at the top...also how can you complete the level without any pencil left?? Still cool game idea although im not sure how this fits into the theme.
Consider playing " A gamedevs dale " by me :)
